50 Classics Challenge

For this week of the classics challenge I paired a 100% silk day dress with heeled sandals. Moschino dress, YSL arty ring, and Bottega Veneta sandals

A dress like this Moschino dress is how you can wear green and red together without looking like you belong in a Christmas greeting card (despite the ornament-like print). Playing up a non-Christmas color helps offset the otherwise holiday specific color combo. It helps that the outfit is also not a winter look.

I am a light skinned Latina. This look definitely calls for a tan on me. I like going for spray tans since it gives me a healthy glow and I can chose my shade. I prefer a spray tan over the tanning booths because I do not want to raise my chances of premature aging and skin cancer, particularly for vanity. Nonetheless, I am okay with being pale so long as my whole body matches 🙂

Have you ever hunted down outfits you have seen on television?

Leighton Meester Blair Waldorf wore this dress in the Gossip Girl season 5 opener. The episode is titled “Yes, then zero.” I actually hunted it down after seeing it on the show. Although she is a character on a show, Blair is one of my fashion icons. Everything she has worn has been my style. I hate to see Gossip Girl coming to an end.
